My printer is showing low ink level, can I just replace my toner to fix the
issue?
-
What do you mean by there’s a toner AND a drum for my Konica Minolta printer?- When I order the drum unit, I thought the toner is included also, isn’t it?
*Konica
Minolta PagePro 1300W, 1350W, 1380MF, and 1390MF are the printer models that
use both the 1300W toner and drum in order for the machine to function properly.
There
are many technical details regarding the differences between a drum and a
toner. To simplify the explanation, a drum holds the image generated by the mechanisms
inside the printer. In some cases, a drum also serves as a waste collector,
gathering the residuals from each print job. In the other hand, a toner is
merely a container that holds the color material, or the ink toner – mostly
black, cyan, yellow, and magenta. During the printing process, the drum will
roll through the toner, in combination with heat and pressure from the fuser,
print out different documents accordingly.
Remember
to double check with the printer message when the light goes on requesting for
a toner or drum replacement. If the message doesn’t specify the issue, below
are some signs showing that it might be time to get a new drum unit:
-
Lighter print color
-
Gently shake the toner cartridge does not help in receiving regular print
quality- Problem still exists after replacing the toner
