Ricoh Printer Error Code SC541, SC542, SC543, SC544, SC545, SC546, How to Make It Disappear?

Error codes for printer models are meant to notify you for specific issues for your printer. However, these codes can sometimes be confusing and also need to be manually turned off when the issues have been resolved on your printer. The error codes SC541 to SC546 are generally associated with fuser unit’s temperature problem, thermistor, or BCU board. First always try to check and fix the printer parts. In most cases, the little temperature detector attached on the fuser needs to be replaced.

When the physical issue has been fixed, try to exit the error code by turning off and on the machine. However, sometimes it just not that easy when it comes to technical difficulties. In the case that simply turning off and on the printer does not work, here are a few steps to reset in the service mode:

1. Press the yellow button that says “Clear Modes”

2. Press the numbers 107

3. Press and hold the red button that says “Clear/Stop” until the screen changes

4. Select “Copy SP”

5. Select SP-5XXX that shows “Mode”

6. Keep pressing “Page Down” till the “5810 SC Code Ret” selection shows up. Select “5810”

7. On the right, press “Execute”

8. Press “Exit”

9. Press “Exit” two more times on the top right corner till the screen goes back to the initial error code display

10. Turn off the printer and wait for few seconds before turning it back on

The error code should be gone after the printer restarts.

  2. I have a Aficio sp c240 dn and I don't have a yellow button or numbers and it says service call sc543 can someone help me please

    1. Hello Mr. Younger,

Thank you for leaving a comment here. To solve the SC543 error code, is there any way you can locate and select "clear mode" from your printer?

You can press "clear mode" plus "107" plus "clear/stop" for about 5 seconds, then turn off or turn on the switch again to see if the problem persists.

However, this service call is trying to tell you that something might be wrong with your printer, like one of the boards inside might gone bad.

If that's the case, it is better if you can find someone to check with your printer and perhaps replace the parts in order for it to work properly.

      Hope this helps.
